Nora Ballew was born in Pennsylvania, the third of four children. She has been an avid reader of many different genres since little Golden books filled her shelves and Hans Christian Andersen tales fueled her imagination. She was bit by the writing bug at a very early age, and she began writing poetry and short stories in grade school. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was always "a writer." Her early education included both a private Christian school and public schools, and she later attended both a community college and private college. Nora married her high school sweetheart, Brian, at 16 and became a mom at 17 to their first daughter. Within six years, two more beautiful daughters had come along. Nora fed her desire to write over the years by writing for pleasure, often penning poetry to mark special occasions or writing romantic short stories; contributing articles to a local entertainment publication, composing technical documentation and blogging.
Fast forward to the present, and you will find Nora still living in Pennsylvania and very happily married to her high school sweetheart after 30 years. She is beaming proud of her now adult daughters who provide love and laughter to her in abundance, and her favorite weekend activity is spending time with her two young grandsons. Nora enjoys being an author, and feels blessed to have inherited a love of words from her late grandmother. Led by faith, it is her desire to use all of her gifts to glorify Him. As a result, she was inspired to write her debut novel, “Diving In Deep”, in the young adult/middle reader Christian fiction genre. Her second novel in the same genre, "Kendall's Secret" was released in 2015.

"In Christ Alone"
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
